Primary 7 pupils from Burnhaven School and St Fergus School have visited Peterhead Library for a special talk.

The P7 classes turned out to hear Allan Burnett who has written a number of books on Scottish history.

The aim of the talks was to explain to pupils how Allan Burnett goes about writing his books. The author also read a number of extracts from his books.

For his work on WWI, Allan Burnett undertakes research from archives, but for his work on WWII he is able to interview survivors from the conflict.

The talks tied in with the commemorations for Remembrance Day.

Allan Burnett visited Peterhead for a week to deliver a series of talks to primary and secondary pupils. As well as Peterhead Library, his tour included visits to Peterhead Academy and the libraries at Boddam and Cruden Bay.
