Dancer Mya hits the road to success

YOUNG Peterhead dancer Mya Linklater has been travelling far and wide over the past few months, enjoying major success on the way.

Mya enjoyed her first trip to Ireland where she competed in the Western European Dance Competition 2011, held at one of Europe’s largest hotels, the City West Hotel in Dublin. She achieved first place in the event, while also won Dancer of the Day at the Western Star Trophy Day in Ayr just a few weeks later.

Then it was off to Somerset in the Easter break to the European Championships 2011 where Mya reached the final and won third place and was absoloutely delighted.

Mya is currently undertaking her dancing exams before heading off to Grangemouth and then Blackpool for The Worlds competition.

Mya’s mum Heather told the Buchanie: “Mya has a lovely new blue outfit and has been sponsored by Vicky Barkess, top designer who makes all the dresses for Strictly Come Dancing and works on the wardrobe for Girls Aloud’for their tour.

“She is dancing every night including ballet classes in her training now and goes to Edinburgh every weekend to Quilietti’s, her dance school.

“Her dance teachers Fiona, Dennis and Stephanie are very proud of her and all her dance colleagues who have all been doing so well.”
