A BUCHAN couple had twice the reason to celebrate this Christmas as they marked their diamond wedding anniversary.

Isabelle and Alex Neish, of The Corse in Crimond, celebrated 60 years together with family and friends on Boxing Day.

Alex (84) and Isabelle (79) married at Banff in 1951 and raised three daughters and two sons.

Mr Neish worked at a farm in Alvah before moving to Rattray. He spent his later years working at the Mac-fish factory in Fraserburgh.

Daughter Carol Duncan said: “They met at one of my Dad’s relatives’ and knew each other for a couple of years before they were married. They are both in quite good health and they enjoy a bit of attention.”

Peterhead North and Rattray Councillor Alan Buchan presented the couple with a bottle of malt whiskey and a bouquet of flowers to mark the occasion.
