A young Peterhead man is furious after vandals targeted several vehicles at his garage.
Three cars were attacked recently in two separate incidents at the premises used by Steven Thomson in the town’s Volum Street.
The damage ranges from spray paint on the cars to windows and headlights being smashed as well as bodywork damage. Steven, 24, who restores cars as a hobby, believes the culprits are young teenagers he has seen loitering in the area at various times recently.
He explained: “Basically I turned up one day to find one car had been spray painted, another had polish thrown over it.
“About a week later I noticed that another car had a windscreen caved in, headlights and wing mirrors done on another one and I found a hammer beside another car which I believe they must have used to smash everything up.”
Steven has been repairing vehicles along with three friends at a unit in the harbour area since last August.
He said: “It’s very much a hobby but it’s something I enjoy doing. It’s sickening when something like this happens. We have around seven cars in at the moment and three of them are damaged.
“A BMW and an Audi have been sitting outside for months and nothing has been done to them. When the spray paint and polish were done it happened on a Sunday.
“I suspect a gang of teenagers, who have been hanging around the area, may be responsible.”
He added: “Something like this is pointless, just absolutely pointless. One of the cars I had just finished work on and it was pretty much ready for sale and then they came along and did all this damage.”
Steven said he had reported the incident to Grampian Police.
