A man aged 50 and a woman aged 44 are expected to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court today in relation to drug offences following the recovery of ‘crack’ cocaine and heroin with an estimated combined street value of around £500.

The seizure took place in Peterhead yesterday (Thursday, February 25) as part of Operation Banook which aims to deal with drug use, drug dealing and violence in the Peterhead and Fraserburgh areas.

Detective Inspector Norman Stevenson said: “This was an intelligence led initiative which involved officers from the Peterhead Community Policing Team, CID and specialist officers from the Operational Support Unit.

“We would like to thank the public for their continued support and anyone with information about drugs misuse in their community is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
