Serious assault in Buchanhaven

Grampian Police can confirm they are investigating following an assault in the High Street area of Buchanhaven, Peterhead.

Following the incident, which happened at around 6pm on Sunday, January 22, a 19-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a suspected back injury.

The injury is described as non-life threatening.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and police are keen to speak to anyone who may have any information regarding this incident.

Meanwhile, officers are making enquiries into a hit and run road collision which occurred about 5pm on Thursday, January 19.

The accident happened on the A90, Peterhead to Fraserburgh Road, near the Inverugie junction at Hallmoss Farm.

A black Vauxhall Corsa was travelling towards Fraserburgh when a car pulled out of the junction striking the Corsa. No one was injured as a result of the collision.
