THE family of a Peterhead teenager are offering a reward for information leading to the return of his bike which was stolen down at the Lido.
James Clarke (17), was enjoying water-based activities with the Peterhead Sea Cadets at around 8pm on Friday June 16 when his Nishiki Maniac bicycle went missing.
He had left it leaning against the Sea Cadets van in the beach car park when he arrived at Lido around 7.30pm. When he emerged from the water around an hour later the bike was gone.
A fellow Sea Cadet took James in his car to look for the bike but no trace of it was found and the theft has been reported to the police.
Mum Denise Perry said it was upsetting as the bike was a gift from James’s stepdad and used by James to get to and from his part time job at Peterhead’s Asda.
She said: “James is really disappointed. He starts at 7.30 so the bike was really handy for getting him there quickly. He has got to get up much earlier for work now.”
