More than a dozen people have been charged with various offences following a brawl in Peterhead town centre recently.

The arrests follow a disturbance outside Mambo’s nightclub in Queen Street in the early hours of Thursday, March 6.

Enquiries were carried out by local officers, alongside officers from the Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit.

Some 14 people are to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court next month.

The 13 men, aged 20 to 45 and a 21-year-old woman have been variously charged with assault and breach of the peace offences.

Sergeant Steve Manson, who is leading the enquiry, said: “CCTV of the incident has been reviewed and a number of people who have been identified are still to be seen.

“Their families and friends may already have had visits from officers and we will continue to pursue the individuals until everyone has been charged regarding their involvement.”

Meanwhile, anyone with any additional information regarding the incident is asked to Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
