Fine for teenager who spat at police officer

A BUCHAN teenager spat in the face of a police officer, a court has heard.

Jamie Fraser (17), spat at officers and attempted to hit them with a guitar and metal frame after they attended a disturbance at Peterhead’s Forrest Place on May 24.

Peterhead Sheriff Court heard on Thursday that police had been called to a disturbance at the family address at around 1.30pm.

Procurator Fiscal Alisdair Fay said: “The police were eventually required to use CS spray on a co-accused. This caused great upset to Fraser and he ran towards police and spat at an officer.”

Defence agent John Adam said that the co-accused was Fraser’s father and Fraser had been attempting to restrain him.

He said: “Jamie Fraser was not the reason that police were there. He accepts that he did spit at police.”

Fining him £200, Sheriff Phillip Mann said: “You stand before me as a first offender but offences against police are taken seriously by the court.”
