Drug dealer jailed for two years

A BUCHAN drug dealer has been jailed for two years. Kevin Ritchie (37) was jailed after police found foil wraps containing heroin in the pocket of a pair of jeans while searching a property at Peterhead’s Arbuthnott Terrace.

Ritchie and a female found within were detained and questioned. Ritchie admitted that the drugs were his and that he had bought them for £150 the previous evening after selling his TV. Fiscal Depute David Thorburn said that the drugs were valued at £300 when sold on the street.

Sam Milligan, defending, said that Ritchie had two habits to support, his own and that of his partner.

After taking some time to consider sentencing options, Sheriff Murray said: “You have pled guilty to a serious charge. There is only one suitable sentence and that is imprisonment.”
