Attempted break-ins at Peterhead

Officers from Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses following a theft and two attempted break-ins in the Peterhead area between Saturday, May 11 and Monday, May 13.

The theft and attempted break-ins occurred in the Churchill Drive, Douglas Close and Blackhouse Terrace areas of town and as a result a bicycle worth a low-three figure sum was stolen and damage to the three properties totalling a low-three figure sum was caused.

Inspector Colin Mowat of the Safer Communities Unit, Aberdeenshire and Moray Division said: “Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious between Saturday 11 May and the early hours of Monday 13 May is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.

“I would encourage people to take basic security measures to prevent opportunistic thieves from gaining access to their property. Ensure that your doors and windows are secure and make sure that cars and garages are also secured.”
