It was an eventful day on which young and old members of the St Fergus community came together to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee and when over £1,000 was raised for the community.
Organised by the new members of the St Fergus Community Association, a fun day was held at the village hall on Saturday, June 2, which began with a coffee morning followed by a children’s disco in the afternoon and the finale of a family night when local band ‘Locked and Loaded’, provided lively entertainment to all ages.
All profits will be spent in St Fergus, including much needed refurbishments to the St Fergus Community Park.
Organisers told the Buchanie the event was a huge success and they were overwhelmed by the encouragement and support they received from residents of the village and everyone who attended the events.
The committee has expressed thanks to Astra Leisure, CJ’s, QDS and local businessman Rodger Morrison for their generous contributions and everyone for their kind donations of baking and raffle prizes; and to those who voluntarily helped to organise and participate in the event - without all of which the day would not have been such a success!
“Community spirit was lifted as everyone came together to enjoy the day – long may it continue!” said a spokeswoman.
