MINTLAW Community Council is seeking grant aid of £156 towards the cost of new-look certificates for the village garden competition.
The community council recently ran a competition, which was open to all pupils in both primary Schools in Mintlaw, to design a new-look certificate.
There was an excellent response and the chosen designs will now be transformed into certificates.
The community council would like to give each winning child, in both schools, a small token of thanks and these prizes will be presented by two community council members, when they visit the schools to show the children how their drawings have been used.
The total cost of the project is £196, which includes the cost of the prizes, card, printer ink and an in-kind voluntary labour contribution, valued at £40, from an IT expert who will transform the children’s drawings into certificates.
In a report to go before members of the Buchan area committee later today (Tuesday), Buchan area manager, Chris White, says: “In this particular case the involvement of the schools with the community council is something we would wish to encourage.”
