Club thanks the port authority
Presentation to the harbour
Peterhead Camera Club have presented Peterhead Port Authority with two canvas images of their work.
This is to show thanks to the Port Authority for allowing the club to use their rooms at Farmers Lane in Peterhead, to hold their meetings.
Club member Andrew Simpson said: “Peterhead Camera Club recently presented Peterhead Port Authority with two framed canvases. The presentation photos are a thank you to the Port Authority for letting us use the facilities other clubs would love to have. This allows us to have a successful club.”
“Stephen Paterson kindly came along and selected his favourite two from a selection of the members images. The two chosen were then made into a canvas and presented to the Port Authority. The two that were selected were by Caitlin Simpson and Mike Hawthorn.”
Members of the club were asked to submit photographs of the port for the competition.
Chief financial officer of the Port Authority, Stephen Paterson said: “We have had a long association with the camera club and provide premises for the group to hold meetings.
“We were delighted when they offered to run a competition for members of the club which involved taking photographs of activity around the port. The quality of the images was very high and it was difficult to choose the winner, but this was a panoramic shot around the South Harbour & Merchants Quay basins. We were presented with a large canvas print of the photograph which is now hung in the main harbour admin office where all visitors will see it.”
