Anna Ritchie School presented a cheque to cancer charity Macmillan after they held their own coffee morning recently.
On Friday, September 28 the school participated in the charity’s own ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event.
Room 8 class enterprise made posters for the event and on the day they had homebakes, a raffle and served tea and coffee to their parents and teachers.
The total amount raised on the day was £380.04.
The school held a special assembly on Wednesday, November 14 to remember those in the war and held a minutes silence.
The pupils were told about what the men at war went through and the importance of poppies.
After the assembly, Mrs Simpson was presented the cheque and she accepted it on behalf of Macmillan.
The amount raised this year was a new record for the school.
