North-east charity Stella’s Voice has launched its annual Christmas Appeal and is hoping that Peterhead folk will help bring some festive cheer to poverty-ridden young people in Eastern Europe.

For more than 26 years the charity has provided shoebox presents for children and young people in orphanages that would otherwise have nothing at Christmas.

You can make a Christmas parcel with new or used items which are in good condition; you can donate toiletries, such as deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toothpaste, etc.

You can also donate dried, packed and tinned foods (with expiry dates of at least August 2017), or you can donate clothing, bedding, blankets, either new or second hand, but these must be in good condition.

You can also donate financially, securely online at stellasvoice.org.uk/donate or by cheque made payable to Stella’s Voice and mail it to Faith Acres, Inverugie, Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, AB42 3DQ.

If you are providing a shoebox parcel, you must list the items you have included in the box and attach this to the outside of the parcel.

Donated items need to be with the charity by the last Friday nin November.
