Members of the Apex Church have presented a cheque to charity after hosting a fundraising Golf Day.

The charity event was held on Friday, September 26 at Peterhead Golf Club in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Members James Morgan, Graeme Gordon and pastor Neil Cameron visited Peterhead Hospital recently to give the donation to Macmillan community nurse Carole Thornton.

James said: “A special thanks to those who donated some great prizes including Robert Coutts Butcher, Specialist Audi Aberdeen, Technip UK Ltd, David Smith, Webster’s Pharmacy, William Gray Construction Ltd, Centrica Energy, Nautronix Marine Technology Solutions Ltd.

“Also a big thank you to Andrew, Phil and Joshua Buchan (Favonius PD 17) for donating the fish for the meal at night.

“It was a beautiful day, conditions were good and we had a great turnout of 48 people who played along and we managed to raise a total of £1,800.”

Carole added: “This donation is amazing and we are really privilaged to accept it.

“The money will go towards grants for patients who are financially struggling with their utility bills.”
