Championship triumph for dancer Jenna

A talented Peterhead dancer has won top prize at a Highland Dancing Championship held in Aberdeen. Jenna Mitchell (15), won the 13 and Under 16 Years Grampian Region Confined Championship on September 29. It was her first championship win and she won her section with two firsts and a second across the four Highland dances. It was a very successful and emotional day for Jenna being crowned champion. Jenna is a pupil of the town’s Slessor School of Dance where she started dancing at the age of three and has been a student there for the past 12 years. Dance teacher, Jacqueline Slessor, said she was “very proud” of what Jenna has achieved.

“She is a credit to the dance school. Winning a championship is what every Highland dancer aspires to achieve and Jenna has worked very hard to accomplish this.”
