Peterhead Engineers Development Ltd (PEDL) will again open its doors to the public and local businesses on Thursday.
The current cohorts of Engineering and Administration trainees will work on during the evening allowing visitors to gain an insight into operational life at the Training Centre while tours around the facility will be conducted by apprentices, who will be able to provide general information and answer any questions from a “trainee perspective”. Once visitors complete the tour, they will be escorted upstairs to the classrooms where there will be displays of completed work on show and refreshments available. The Training Centre was first established in Peterhead 1967 and since then over 1200 engineering trainees have passed through its doors. Following the introduction of a business administration course in 2008 almost 60 trainee administrators have also successfully completed their early MA training at the centre.
Centre Manager Caroline Milne said: “In today’s economic climate, it is increasingly critical that PEDL continues to attract funding and support from the local community so that it may continue to thrive.”
Please contact the centre directly on 01779 472028 or head down to Wellbank Training Centre, Blackhills, AB42 3JH on Thursday (May 31) between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
