New jobs created by major McDonald’s investment

The expansion of Peterhead’s McDonald’s franchise is set to create at least 15 new jobs for the local community.

A new £140,000 ‘Side by Side’ dual-lane drive-thru was completed last week and will allow more orders to be taken and for food to be delivered more quickly.

All new starters who join the franchise after the drive-thru reopens will be given access to a wide range of qualifications, including certificates in maths and english as well as the McDonald’s Level 2 Apprenticeship in Catering and Hospitality.

Geoff Cooper, the restaurant’s franchisee, said: “As a local businessman I’m very keen to continue to invest in my community and ensure every customer receives the best service possible.

“This is a significant investment, and I expect to increase staff numbers by at least fifteen as a result.

“For our drive-thru customers, we’ll be improving their experience by reducing waiting times, and alleviating congestion.
