Harry Emslie’s double success

Mintlaw farmer Harry Emslie enjoyed double success in a single day at Aberdeen & Northern Marts Thainstone Centre, Inverurie.

Harry, of Kinknockie, took the overall championship in the commercial beef cattle breeding show and sale then won the Limousin title in the bull event.

His breeding cattle champion was a 27-month-old British Blue cross heifer with a four-month-old Limousin cross calf which sold for £3,200 to Lloyd Fowlie of L&E Fowlie, Guise, Tough, Alford.

It was the second time in three years that Harry had lifted the overall title. He was presented with his trophy by Nick Canning of show sponsors East Coast Viners Animal Nutrition.

A short time later, he then won the Limousin championship in the May bull show and sale with the 22-month-old Emslies Glyndwr.

His champion bull sold for 3,800gns to Bill Mackie, Whiteside, Tullynessle, Alford.
