A North-east apprenticeship training centre has celebrated the graduation of more than 100 apprenticeship learners at its biannual graduation ceremony.

Aberdeen-based ITCA held its graduation ceremony last week at the city’s Marcliffe Hotel and Spa.

The ceremony saw 114 learners from a wide range of disciplines including engineering, welding, fabrication and administration receive certificates to complete their apprenticeship training before embarking on the next chapter of their learning career.

The formal ceremony included keynote speakers and also saw learners from each discipline being awarded for their outstanding achievements throughout their apprenticeship and Business and Administration SVQ Level 4 graduate, Alison Taylor, was presented with the award for the overall Learner of the Year 2012.

Alison, safety secretary for Total E&P UK, said: “Total has sponsored me throughout my apprenticeship and it has been a fantastic opportunity as part of my role within the company.

“I have worked for Total at their St. Fergus Terminal for many years, and thoroughly enjoyed my apprenticeship with ITCA.

“They have a true dedication to each and every one of their learners and the support I received from them throughout my apprenticeship was invaluable and I have certainly learnt that age is no barrier to learning.”
