An exhibition of CD cover artworks has been put on by the Friends of Fraserburgh Lighthouse Museum Group.

The exhibition, which will be on display at the Lighhouse Museum cafe throughout September, is comprised of scores of CD cover-sized pieces designed by artists of all ages.

The artists have decorated their CD cases using a variety of techniques and materials including decoupage, foil art and Zentangle.

Each of the CD-sized pieces are on sale for £2, with the proceeds going to the Lighthouse Museum.

As well as exhibitions, the volunteers also run workshops for budding artists and work in schools teaching children to knit. Recently, the group visited a number of schools in the Fraserburgh cluster area and joined pupils in a challenge to make designs for inside the town’s new swimming pool.

The volunteers are planning two activity days for youngsters during the October holidays, with dates still to be arranged. Jill Chandler, who is one of the artists in the group, said: “We are really looking forward to people coming along, especially to see their children’s art.”

Fellow artist Isobel Gregory added: “This has been a manageable project for both the adults and the children. It shows such diversity and skill.”
