The Port of Peterhead has once again been awarded the ‘Port Environmental Review’ accreditation from the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO).

The accreditation is port specific and focuses on the environmental management systems and controls established at the port.

Peterhead Port is the only Scottish port holding this accreditation among eight other UK ports such as Dover, London, Belfast and Felixstowe.

Peterhead Port Authority environmental officer Richard Baird said: “This accreditation highlights the efforts to minimise or remove any adverse impact on our local wildlife, waters and shoreline.

“It also displays the commitment given by the majority of the port community in maintaining a clean and healthy port environment that the local community can enjoy and be proud of.”
