Construction on the new Mapco facility in Peterhead is progressing well.

The first major step in the construction of the new Mapco fish processing is complete.

The steel frame of the building, which replaces Mapco’s original facility on Peterhead Harbour which was flattened in the December 2012 storms, is now up.

There were fears in the summer last year that Mapco would never be able to get back on its feet as it was in conflict with two separate Port Authority projects.

Mapco chief Nasar Rashid hopse to have his company back in production by the summer.
