“It is an exciting project to be involved in and I look forward to recruiting other members of staff, getting the equipment into the building and getting a range of programmes worked up.”
MACBI chairman, councillor Norman Smith, said: “With over 250 people attending our open day in October, we have great feedback on what the community are looking for from the centre.
“In Michael we have an enthusiastic and experienced manager who will take the feedback forward into delivery.”
Cllr Smith added: “The building is coming along and work is within target so we will hopefully get it handed over to us at the end of January, and we will work to get it up and running in March.”
An early priority for Michael will be to promote MACBI’s gift vouchers which can be purchased directly by contacting 01771 613666.
