Underprivileged children throughout Aberdeenshire are set to benefit from a fundraising total of £15,473 donated to the Cash for Kids charity by international oilfield support services company ASCO.
The money was raised at a series of staff events and initiatives, including a Superhero Day, quiz and bowling nights, and a charity football tournament, held in Peterhead and Aberdeen throughout 2013.
Marie McIntosh, chair of the ASCO Lifestyle committee, said: “We are delighted to have presented our chosen charity Cash for Kids with such a substantial amount following our fundraising efforts last year.
“As well as our own functions, volunteers also came forward from across the ASCO Group to take part in a variety of other events, including Peterhead Scottish Week, the annual Cash for Kids charity auction, Children’s Party and the Celebrate Aberdeen parade.”
Cash for Kids fundraiser, Michelle Ferguson, added: “Cash for Kids distributes grants to the neediest families in our area four times a year and the requests for help are always on the increase. We are inundated with applications for assistance, so the money raised by ASCO will go out very soon to help children in crisis.”
