A NEW radio station for the Buchan area made its live debut yesterday (Monday) after years of planning.
Buchan Community Radio made its first broadcast at 7am and will continue to broadcast live online.
The station will be broadcasting from Farmer’s Lane, Peterhead to provide the local area with everything from music to news and weather.
Chairman, John Cropley admitted it has taken around two years to get the station up and running, but hopes it will grow in the future.
Speaking to the Buchanie, vice-chairman, Gillian Craig said: “We are a non-profit company so any donations or sponsorships are welcome to help us out.
“We can also attend local events and broadcast live from them.”
Programme Organiser, Ronnie Arthur, says that there will be music and schedules for everyone as he explained: “We will have a Gospel show, Sound of the 70s show, Big Tommy’s dance music show, news, weather as well as road reports and fish landings.”
Gillian added: “We would like to thank everyone in the area for their continued support and the Port Authority for allowing us to use the building.”
