Peterhead Churches Together have started their series of Lent Bible Studies with the theme “Parables and Possessions”.
In this second study the subject is Betrayal and the host church is St. Andrew’s Parish Church, Queen Street, with the meeting being on Thursday, March 13, at 7pm.
Next week, in Peterhead Congregational Church, Queen Street, the meeting is on Thursday, March 20, at 7pm and the study theme is Forgiveness.
Peterhead Methodist Church Sisterhood will meet on Wednesday, March 12, at 7.15pm when a programme will be presented by the Longside Parish Church Choir as the special guests. All ladies are welcome.
On Thursday, March 13, there is the fundraising choir evening hosted by Scottish Week and this is being held in Peterhead Old Parish Church.
Choirs from several local primary schools are to be taking part and featured also will be the Peterhead Academy ceilidh band and the Old Parish choir. It is hoped the £5 admission tickets have gone well.
Following the retirement of the Rev. Rodger Neilson from Cruden Parish Church, the Rev. Bob Fowlie has been appointed Interim Moderator. Morning services will continue as normal at 10am conducted by a series of Readers, with Rev. Bob conducting communion services etc.
Cruden Parish Craft Group meets on Tuesday, March 18, at 2pm in the Hall.
Cruden Parish Church Junior Church meets each Sunday at 10am except school holidays.
On Sunday, March 16, morning worship in Peterhead Old Parish Church is at 11am and will be conducted by the Rev. Fred Coutts.
Morning worship in Old Deer Church on Sunday, March 16, commences at 10.30am and the service will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk. Children’s Church meets as usual. Teas and fellowship will follow afterwards.
Deer Parish Church Prayer Group will meet in the Old Deer Session Room on Wednesday, March 19, from 6.30-7.15pm. All are welcome.
Peterhead Fishermen’s Mission will have its regular Nightcap Service on Sunday, March 16, at 8pm with community singing from 7.45pm.
The Mission Ladies’ Guild will meet on Tuesday, March 18, at 7.15pm. The guests at this meeting are to be Rhoda McDonald and the Strichen Youth Group.
Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church Guild will meet on Wednesday, March 19, at 7.30pm with John and Liz Slaven – Fichering About.
Buchan East Presbyterial Council’s AGM is to be held in Peterhead’s Trinity Church, St. Peter Street, Heart for Art, on Thursday, March 20, commencing at 7.30pm.
Blythswood Care’s collecting vehicle is due to visit Peterhead and district on Thursday, March 20, to receive donations of items which will help the charity in its ongoing relief work across the world. Blythswood appreciates most gratefully all gifts.
The vehicle will be in Peterhead from 9.30 to 11.30am and then in Fraserburgh from 1.00 to 3pm.
A reminder is given that the Peterhead Festival of Gospel Male Voice Praise is to be held within the Peterhead Baptist Church, King Street, on Saturday,March 22, commencing at 6.45pm – doors open at 6pm. The guest speaker isthe Rev. Dr. Jeff Tippner.
