Buchan Area Initiatives Fund opens for business

Aberdeenshire Council’s Buchan Area Committee has launched its Area Initiatives Fund for 2011.

A total of £35,000 has been made available to benefit a wide range of community projects throughout Buchan.

This highly-valued and well-established scheme will once again be administered by Buchan Development Partnership.

Projects that have been identified and prioritised by the community through the Planning for Real process and which will help them deliver targets identified in their action plans will be given priority.

The fund is of immense benefit to the communities of Buchan who work hard to start up and carry forward projects that enhance and improve their local facilities.

It is hoped the fund will assist community groups in finding a sustainable way forward in the light of the current economic climate. It may also be an opportunity for some projects to lever additional support through other funding streams and agencies.
