Buchan Area Initiatives Fund launched

Aberdeenshire Council’s Buchan Area Committee is pleased to announce the launch of the Area Initiatives Fund for 2013.

A total of £34,000 has been made available to benefit a wide range of community projects throughout Buchan.

This highly valued and well established scheme will once again be administered by Buchan Development Partnership, which progresses economic, social and environmental development in the Buchan area.

Projects that have been identified and prioritised by the community through the ‘Planning for Real’ process and which will help them deliver targets identified in their action plans, will be given priority.

This Fund is of immense benefit to the communities of Buchan who work hard to start up and carry forward projects that inhance and improve their local facilities.

It is hoped this Fund will assist community groups in finding a sustainable way forward in the light of the current economic climate.

The Fund may also be an opportunity for some projects to lever additional support through other funding streams and agencies.

For further information and to request an application form, please contract Buchan Development Partnership on 01771 613584 or via e-mail at: bdp@scotmail.net.

The closing date for Initiatives Fund applications is Monday, May 17 2013.
