The Buchanhaven Heritage Society are delighted to announce they will soon be printing new brochures to attract visitors to the area.
The brochures will promote the benefits of the area including the active side with an excellent walking, jogging and cycle route; wonderful wildlife; an unspoiled natural environment along with a range of shops and of course a heritage centre that supports a range of events and exhibitions in the area.
The brochures will be located at various locations across Scotland in a bid to boost the number of tourists to Peterhead as well as the various towns and villages across Buchan.
Kindly supported financially by Augean North Sea Services (ANSS), the new brochures are one of the key actions listed in their community action plan under promoting tourism and the new leaflets will be ready for distribution soon.
ANSS is a joint venture between Scomi Oiltools and Augean PLC specifically created to serve the North Sea oil and gas industry.
The purpose of the joint venture is to continue to provide Scomi’s high standard in drilling waste management and with the additional capabilities of Augean in hazardous and radioactive waste management, they aim to further develop services in the North Sea waste market.
ANSS enables the development of innovative solutions to manage all waste streams derived from North Sea exploration, production and DECOM activities.
Their services are augmented with a wide array of offshore rental equipment for waste containment operations and onshore industrial cleaning equipment designed to deliver the most efficient solutions for all waste streams coming from the offshore oil and gas industry.
Alex Geddes, Chair of the Buchanhaven Heritage Society, said: “We were delighted to accept the very kind financial support from Augean to get the brochure concept into a delivery stage and we are working closely with the company on the final stages of the draft brochure ahead of going to print.
“We hope to be at the print stage in the new few weeks and thereafter we will get them out to key sites across Scotland to promote what the area has to offer.”
Simon Gibb, ANSS Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to be helping the Buchanhaven Heritage Society highlight the various benefits of the North East to show we’re not just all about the Oil Industry.
“The Aberdeenshire economy needs to diversify in order to remain buoyant in the future and the fast –growing outdoor activity industry can help bring a lot of additional tourism to the area.”
