Boddam Public Hall is to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Wednesday 26th August at 7pm in a final attempt to find new members to join the hall committee.

After a disappointing turn out at the AGM meeting which took place in June, Chairperson Kim Buchan says “they can but hope” that the turn out for the EGM will be better.

Several new committee positions are needed including Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Vice Secretary and Treasurer, as well as volunteers to help with fundraising and general upkeep of the hall.

Kim urges anyone who is interested or concerned for the halls future to come along on the 26th.

She said: “Even if people simply come and say they’re interested and would like some more information on how they can help, that would be a start, nobody wants to see the hall close.”

She added: “Getting involved would not necessarily require a huge commitment, for some roles perhaps only once a month.’”

Anyone interested in volunteering can also contact the hall prior to the meeting on 01779 490826.
