Buchan Development Partnership is holding its Spring Forum in Mintlaw Academy on Wednesday, March 6, at 7.30pm.
The evening will include an update on the progress of Mintlaw and Central Buchan Community Initiative’s (MACBI) campaign to build a Community Centre in Mintlaw.
Despite many setbacks along the way, the group has finally succeeded in getting the funding in place to build the centre which will be open early in 2014.
Members of the committee will be speaking about the project, plans will be available to look at and there will be an opportunity to find out what kind of activities will be on offer.
This is also an opportunity for people to become involved with the project. Chair of the group, Councillor Norman Smith, said: “Up until now our group has been focused on building the centre – but now we are looking at the operational side of things once it is open and all the activities that will be able to be delivered.
“We would encourage people or groups interested in using the centre or people who are interested in running classes or activities to come along and find out how they can be involved at this exciting stage.”
All are welcome to go along to tomorrow’s meeting. Also during the evening the latest BDP Shell Small Grants will be presented and there will be an update from The Friends of Aden Group and the usual refreshments.
