Five Peterhead workmates are gearing themselves up for a mountain charity climb this weekend.

Alexander Beagrie, Shaun Fearnon, Stewart Lippe, Rafal Kotlewski and Denis Garden will take part in the climb alongside Stewart’s nephew Cameron Smith.

The five friends work at ASCO in Peterhead’s South Base and say they are looking forward to the climb which they will begin on Saturday, August 15.

Speaking to the Buchanie Alexander said: “We have been up Bennachie before and spoke about climbing Ben Nevis but it never happened.

“We decided to climb it for charity and settled on Sands as it is a charity close to our hearts.”

The workmates say they have been managing to get some training in for the weekend’s big event.

Alexander added: “None of us have ever climbed Ben Nevis before and I don’t think we’ll do it again afterwards.

“We don’t have a specific fundraising target as we just want to raise as much money as we can.”
