Army Home League meetings

It is regretted that the Messy Church gathering for families at the Methodist Church, Queen Street, due to be held on Saturday, September 1, had to be cancelled.

This was because the Circuit welcome service for the new minister appointed to Aberdeen had to be brought forward from the Sunday, September 2. The commencing date for the Messy Church is Saturday, October 6.

Peterhead Salvation Army has announced that the meeting for ladies, the Home League, has started up again and Monday evening at 6.45pm is still the regular time. The weekly meetings at the Army of the Elder Citizens’ Fellowship will begin for the new session on Wednesday, September 5, at 2.15pm and all are welcome.

Deer Parish Church Prayer Group will meet in Old Deer Church on Wednesday, September 5, from 6.30-7.15pm.

Please note that the church Annual Fete is to be held in Mintlaw Public Hall on Saturday, September 8, from 10am to 1pm.

Christian Faith Ministries present Peter Jackson. Following the launch of Peter’s new DVD in Fraserburgh, “Heaven in Sight”, a very warm welcome is extended to all to come and hear him at Boddam United Free Church on Sunday, September 9, at 6pm. Enjoy a cup of tea and a time of fellowship after the service.

Remember the special seminar of three evening talks on “The Bible is still relevant even today”. The guest speaker is the Rev. Rene Furi Luemba who is visiting from the DR Congo, and the venue is Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church, Queen Street. The invitation from the Rev. Dr. Abi and his congregation covers all three dates, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, September 5, 6 and 7, each starting at 7.30pm.

St. Drostan’s Episcopal Church, Old Deer, has announced that on Saturday, September 8, there will be a Mission Meeting with the Bishop at 10am in St. John’s Hall, Longside.

Morning worship in Old Deer Church on Sunday, September 9, commences at 10.30am and will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk. All are invited and welcome.

The Sunday School will meet also at that time. Crèche facilities are available during the service and teas will be served afterwards.

Peterhead Fishermen’s Mission has the regular Nightcap Service to which all are welcome on Sunday, September 9, commencing at 8pm.

Cruden Parish Church has intimated that the “Coffee and Chat” mornings resume on Wednesday, September 5, at 10.30am in the church hall, and the meetings will continue on the first Wednesday of every month during the winter period.

The “Watch and Talk” Group will meet on Monday, September 10, at 7.30pm in 3 Main Street, Cruden Bay.

The new session of the Methodist Church Sisterhood begins on Wednesday, September 12, at 7.15pm. Some business will be dealt with and the minister, the Rev. Isobel Akers, is the speaker. All ladies are very welcome.

St. Fergus Parish Church is holding a Scottish Concert starring Eddie Rose and champion accordionist, Sandy Lindsay. This will be in St. Fergus Public Hall on Thursday, September 13, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 which includes tea and they can be obtained by phoning 01779-838581 or by paying at the door.

Thursday, September 13, is the next day on which Blythswood Care’s collecting vehicle will be visiting Peterhead and district to receive donations of items to help the charity in its extensive relief work. The locations and times are as the normal schedule.

The annual Christian Conference will be held in York Street Hall, Peterhead, this Saturday (September 8) from 3pm to 5pm and 6pm to 7pm (tea interval 5pm to 6pm). It will continue on the Sunday from 3pm to 4.30pm and 6pm to 7pm. Speakers are J. Grant, J. Hay and I. Jackson.

Ministry meetings will be held from Monday 10th to Thursday 13th at 7.30pm, when the speaker will be J. Grant.
