The Scottish SPCA is asking animal lovers to donate towels and blankets to its Drumoak Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Aberdeenshire.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity is keen to ensure the pets in their care are kept warm and comfortable.

Centre assistant manager Claire Tyczynska said: “We’re going through lots of blankets and towels at the moment as we use them in the cattery, kennels and small animals section. We also use them for the wildlife that arrives in our care.

“New or used blankets and towels which are clean and in good condition would be a great help to us and we’ll certainly put them to good use.

“We can’t accept duvets or pillows as the insides can be harmful to the animals if they tear and eat them.”

Donations can be given to the Centre between 10am and 4pm seven days a week.
