Apache supports RAS

RAS (Rape & Abuse Support) has been selected as one of four charities being supported at this year’s Run Balmoral.

The support that RAS has received from Apache North Sea has made the team entry possible and RAS will be fielding a full team of ten runners in the 10k.

Jane Cowe, director at RAS said: “We are delighted to be able to participate in Run Balmoral, particularly as only a few charities are selected each year.

“It allows us the opportunity to raise vital funds, increase awareness, and reach the wider community who may not be aware that we provide these specialised support services for women of 13 and over who have experienced sexual violence or rape in the whole of the north east.

“Although we have a team, any runner taking part can download a sponsor form, from the Run Balmoral website, and raise funds for RAS, and I would encourage anyone visiting on the day to come and visit our marquee.”

Commenting on their support, Fiona Allardyce of Apache North Sea said: “We have a long established record of donating money to local charities and we are very happy to provide funds to these organisations that do incredibly important work in the community.”
