An artistic flair shown at Rescue Hall event

Artists young and old have taken part in this year's Peterhead Scottish Week Artists' Challenge.

The youngsters were first up and designed their pieces of artwork under the theme of dance.

Their entries were split into different categories according to age - with the youngest artists aged just three years old.

Medals were awarded to everyone who took part and there were prizes for the category winners as follows:

Under 7 Years - 1 Noah Morrison, 2 Orlith Mitchell, 3 Madison Buchan.

7 -9 Years - 1 Amy Skene, 2 Daisy Bradford, 3 Elias Mitchell.

10 – 12 Years - 1 Laury Mackie, 2 Katlyn Mortimer, 3 Leoni Mortimer.

Sam Allan prize for Originality - David Buchan.

In the 13 – 18 Years - 1 Kayleigh Bruce, 2 Louise Strachan, 3 Rachel Calder.

Adults - 1 Connie Robertson, 2 Lynda Buchan, 3 Susan Taylor, 4 Lynda Enright, 5 Rachael McLean.

Bill Taylor prize for Originality - Ruth Hayter.

Commenting, Chair of Peterhead Informal Art Group, Roger Berl, said: "We've had a really good entry again - 63 children.

"All the children were very inventive and interpreted the theme of dance very imaginatively."

The sponsors of the event were Bill Mackie Engineering Ltd, Peterhead, and Framers Workshop, Fraserburgh.
