A Buchan safety group has been highlighting the issue of personal safety recently by promoting a range of personal safety alarms.
The Buchan Community Safety Group funds a range of alarms which come in a variety of shapes and sizes for people of all ages.
Commenting, Community Warden Cathy Ramsey said: “There is a range of alarms people can choose from, including alarms for children.”
Former chairperson of the Buchan Community Safety Group, Councillor Anne Allan, said: “We have been selling these alarms for a few years now. They definitely give people a sense of security.
“It’s good to be able to raise awareness as we come into the darker nights and people are out walking by themselves.
“The Buchan Community Safety Group buys the alarms in bulk which reduces costs, and we sell them on a not-for-profit basis,” she added.
The alarms are priced at £2.50 for small alarms and £3.50 for large alarms, and can be purchased from the main reception at Arbuthnot House, Peterhead.
The personal safety devices will also be on sale at the Jogscotland running festival on September 16.
