PETERHEAD’s McDonalds is set to undergo a £350,000 makeover.
New franchise holder Geoff Cooper told the Buchanie last week that the popular Invernettie restaurant would be transformed by the major refurbishment.
Changes outside to the drive-thru will be matched by an exciting new look inside, with internal furnishings getting the new and improved McDonalds branding.
Having taken over the franchise early this year, Geoff is keen to ensure the existing high standard of service is even further improved upon during his tenure at the Blue Toon restaurant.
He has already witnessed sales increasing at his Union Street franchise in Aberdeen since he took over at the helm in 2009, and is looking forward to working with manager Carol Ross and her team at Peterhead to deliver an improved customer experience in the coming months.
“The Peterhead McDonalds is a busy franchise and is doing very good business,” said Geoff. “It is my aim to see even stronger sales growth and that is one of the reasons I personally am investing so heavily in what will be a total transformation of the restaurant.
“We will be introducing a new drive-thru system where customers will be able to view their order to speed up the process and improve order accuracy.
“Inside we will be boosting seating capacity from just over 70 to over 90 with a range of the contemporary new McDonalds furnishings.”
In addition to the improvements at the Peterhead restaurant, Geoff is also aiming to bring in more staff in the months ahead.
Work gets underway on Monday, June 6 when the drive-thru will be closed from Monday to Friday but opening for the weekend trade. During that week the restaurant itself will remain open as normal.
Thereafter, interior improvements will result in only the drive-thru being available until a full re-opening on June 27.
A grand community re-launch is planned for Saturday, July 2 with details to follow.
