While it’s perhaps too early for many of us to be thinking about Christmas, the team at Peterhead’s 2ReUse outlet is already focussed on the festive season.
Manager Brenda Campbell and her dedicated crew of staff and volunteers are reminding us all to remember the recycling store when it comes to donations of furniture, toys and other goods.
She said: “While we might still be holding onto the last of the summer sunshine, 2ReUse is firmly focussed on the months ahead.
“Many households like to freshen up their homes for Christmas and while sometimes that just involves decorating, in many instances it’s new furniture being purchased and so on.
“I would encourage everyone to bear our community project in mind when they are considering replacing tables, chairs, sofas and beds - not only will you be diverting tonnage from landfill, you will be helping to support families across our community.”
All money raised at 2ReUse is fed back into the community via parent company Peterhead Projects Limited.
Brenda added: “In addition to our wide range of furniture and household items, we also have a vast array of bric-a-brac, books, fashion items from children to adults including handbags, shoes and jewellery.
“Our toy selection is a delight for children of all ages and we would also encourage households to remember us when older, unused toys are being replaced by the latest Christmas favourites.”
You can make donations at 2ReUse’s Berryden Road base from Monday - Friday 9.30am to 4pm and on Saturdays from 9.30am to 2pm, or call 01779 475008 for furniture, rags and scrap metal collections.
