A popular community enterprise in Peterhead is urgently appealing for help in securing a new storage facility within the town.
2ReUse Recycling has enjoyed the use of a former agricultural building at Dales Park for several years.
But with the premises earmarked for demolition to clear the way for a new housing development, the recycling enterprise will be moving out in due course.
It will, of course, still be operating from its busy shops at Berryden Road, Marischal Street and Skelton Street.
Ken Duncan, development manager with Peterhead Projects which operates 2ReUse, said: “We are indebted to Aberdeenshire Council for its support of our initiative by allowing us to use the store in recent years but the race is now very much on to source alternative accommodation.
“Thanks to the hugely-generous nature of local residents, 2ReUse receives hundreds of household items weekly to further its recycling cause.
“But with limited space within our retail outlets we are unable to offer all items for sale so a suitable storage facility is vital if we are to continue offering this wonderful service.
“We require around 5,000sqft of secure storage space but with limited funds we are ideallynhoping a local business may be able to offer us accommodation free of charge - at least for a period.”
2ReUse recently launched the latest of its initiatives -‘Be Inspired - at Skelton Street in Buchanhaven where it is creating an exciting range of shabby chic furniture, alongside vintage collectables and an impressive and unusual range of healthy ‘whole foods’.
The enterprise is also about to take delivery of a new van generously sponsored by the Morrisons Foundation to improve its collection and delivery service.
