Old sea dogs at the Cannon

Taking stock at the cannon in Peterhead.

Pictured is a group of old sea dogs around the Russian cannon in Peterhead, so-called because it was captured by the Russians during the Crimean War.

It was later moved from this location on the esplanade to the front of Arbuthnot House.

The cannon sat there for many years until it was requisitioned for scrap during WWII. Thanks Kenny Bruce for the photograph.
