Buchanhaven Heritage Society received a welcome donation recently from Marathon Oil with a cheque for £250 that has enabled it to purchase its own display boards.
It will now allow even more photographs than normal to be displayed at its hugely-popular events.
As the society expands and requests come in for their exhibitions to go out to other locations, the time was right to develop their assets, so that travelling displays could be provided to a range of other venues. Marathon Oil were made aware of the demand being placed on the society and stepped in to provide the support needed.
Society vice-chair Elizabeth Milne, explained: “We were delighted with the offer of support from Marathon Oil and this has now allowed us to increase our display area not only at the centre, but now at other venues as requests for our services come in from other organisations across the area keen to see our exhibits and photographs.
“On behalf of the society I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Marathon Oil for the kind donation.”
Kenny Bruce, advanced procurement/contracts analyst for Marathon, said: “Marathon are delighted to be able to help the Buchanhaven Heritage Society with this small donation.
“We as a company, are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate, and we are greatly impressed with the work being done in Buchanhaven, not only with regard to the regeneration of the old school, but also the immediate community as a whole.”
