Kosmos Ensemble set for New Deer

A CONCERT by the Kosmos Ensemble will be held at New Deer public hall on Thursday, March 14, at 7.30pm.

The concert is a new venture for New Deer Community Association and it is delighted to welcome this renowned ensemble to the village.

Meg Hamilton on viola, Harriet Mackenzie on violin and Milos Milvojevic on accordion as Kosmos Ensemble have performed at the UK’s most prestigious music festivals and venues and had live performances on Radio 3 and Classic FM.

They are re-defining classical music, bridging western classical music with music from other parts of the world. Sophisticated jazz glides magically into wild Gypsy fiddling, emotive Jewish music into hot-blooded tango, Arabic and Turkish improvisation into Greek melodies.

Exciting new arrangements, alongside vibrant new compositions, entrancing dance rhythms, and soulful improvisation are delivered with panache and virtuoso technique.

The hall will be set out with tables, so those going along can bring theri own drinks if they want to enjoy this exciting concert.

Tea and coffee will be on sale during the interval, and tickets for the concert are priced at £10.

These are available from the Chemist and Food For Thought, New Deer, or by calling (01771) 644217 or (01771) 644366.
