Round one was held at Avertical World in Dundee, round two at the Leisure Centre in Inverness and round three at Transition Extreme in Aberdeen.

Each competition involved climbing on three boulder problems and three roped climbs. Boulder problems are low height climbs that are done without the use of a rope, and usually only require a small number of climbing moves. Roped climbs can be anywhere from 10 – 35m, depending on the venue.

Competing in three different age categories Scott finished fourth in every round, while Dougie was third. It was Keri who proved that she was the climbing star by taking first place in every round.

The top three climbers over the three rounds all earn a place on the Scotland North team and get to represent their region at the British final at the Indoor Climbing Arena, Edinburgh on June 23.

All three climbers are members of the Buchan Climbing Club, which meets at the climbing wall at the Leisure Centre in Peterhead. The club is family-orientated and welcomes new members to join its sessions every Wednesday evening between 7 and 9pm. The club has members from all age categories, but does require that all members of 16 and under be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
