Buchanhaven Heritage Society were delighted with the large turn out for their recent Vintage Tea which this sets the scene for a bumper year ahead at the heritage centre 2014.
Along with the tea there was a display of old photographs and artefacts to please the crowds and the volume of visitors was a delight for the team to see.
In addition, the team had tickets on sale for their Scottish Evening planned for April 26 and they were sold out on the day, so again the expectations are high for a great traditional evening of food and music.
The team is busy already preparing for the next six months of events and is pleased to announce the return of the Grampian Modelling Club in May.
This follows their first visit in March 2013 and the feedback from young - and not so young - was extremely positive with the club delighted to come back to Buchanhaven for a repeat visit.
More details of this event will be circulated soon, but it looks like another exciting weekend for modellers from around the area to come.
The society is also delighted to see the growth in its evening clubs including the knitting and crochet group on Monday’s the Craigewan Photographic Club on Tuesday’s and the art class on Wednesday’s.
This supports the aims of the society and the centre and the steady growth is welcomed by all involved.
Society vice chair Elizabeth Milne told us: “We were really delighted with the large turn out on the day and the feedback from visitors was tremendous.
“We really appreciate the support we get from everyone that comes along to our events and look forward to seeing the centre go from strength to strength. Our Scottish Evening looks set to be a great community event and for us to sell out on the day was really pleasing to see.
“Our aim has always been to support the community and to safeguard the past for the future to enjoy and will do all we can to ensure this aim is maintained.”
