A NEW scheme is being launched aimed at providing local residents with an opportunity to get involved with various aspects of Aden Country Park.
The inaugural meeting of the Friends of Aden Country Park is to be held at 7pm on Thursday, January 26 at the Kemp Hall in Old Deer.
Outlining the idea behind the scheme, Aden Country Park development officer Neil Shirran said: “Becoming a Friend of Aden Country Park is a great way of getting to know some like-minded people who are keen to help improve their much loved local park”
The scheme will give those involved a chance to enhance and protect their local facilities and environment and make new friends along the way.
Friends can either volunteer on site, or equally from home in other ways, with a wide range of activities and projects including practical tasks such as improving footpaths, tree planting, and the cleaning and painting of buildings.
You could also help to organise events, activities and performances, undertake marketing, promotion and fundraising or help out in the museum.
Neil added: “If you think you might want to get involved and perhaps have either some spare time or a skill to offer, please feel free to join us for a cuppa and chat.
“Everyone is welcome. “
If, however, you are unable to attend the inaugural meeting but are still interested in becoming a Friend of Aden Country Park visit the Aden Country Park website for more information at www.adencountrypark.org.uk or contact Neil Shirran the Aden Development Worker on email@example.com
