2012 Buchan Queen nominations sought

WE can hardly believe it’s that time of year again, but the call has gone out from Peterhead Scottish Week organisers for nominations for the 2012 Buchan Queen!

Judges will select this year’s Buchan Queen and Princesses at a special evening at the Waterside Hotel on Saturday, May 26.

Girls must be aged 18 or over on July 21 to enter the competition, and this is a great chance to get involved in the local community and be crowned Buchan Queen 2012.

“Every year all the girls always tell us they have had a fantastic week meeting lots of people and attending all the fun events Scottish Week has to offer,” said Ashleigh Donald of the organising committee.

Anyone wishing to enter this year’s competition can do so by completing the application form below and sending it to Karen Day at The Waterside Inn, Fraserburgh Road, Peterhead, Aberdeenshire AB42 3BN to arrive no later than April 28.

All Buchan Queen hopefuls will receive a complimentary photo session by award-winning professional photographer Philip Stewart.

The winning girls will not only have the accoloade of the being crowned Buchan Queen and Princess 2012, but will also win cash prizes of £250 for the Queen and £150 for each Princess. The Queen will also win a weekend away for two at Thainstone House Hotel as well as meal vouchers for the Waterside and a gym membership.
